i don't actually watch all that much yuri anime, but i do entirely owe my teenage years to yuri-bait anime and gacha games like Love Live!, Hibike! Euphonium, Bang Dream, etc and their fanworks, like these two amvs, though recently Bang Dream: It's MYGO!!!!! and Ave Mujica have taken the crown, those shows go insanely hard and the relationship drama is unbelievable. Revolutionary Girl Utena is also my favourite show period, and Puella Magi Madoka Magica and Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury are some very good shows with explicit yuri elements.

i enjoy academic papers, and i love seeing people smarter than me articulate my thoughts on gender in yuri and yaoi. they're paywalled behind JSTOR though, so if you don't have university access they may be hard to read.
