STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE
Star Trek has the unique ability to put an incredibly politically prescient and character-driven drama episode right next to an episode with the worst politics and stupidest plot you've ever seen, all wrapped together with that good 90s sci-fi tv special effects. If you're like me (feminist analysis pervert and/or diehard Kira Nerys lover) I recommend reading Nana Visitor's book on women in Trek as a supplementary.

HEALTH - DEATH MAGIC
Described as "post-industrial synthpop". Good ass fucking album. I've been working through Health's backlog since becoming instantly infatuated with Rat Wars and so far this one's my number two.
